School Symbols

The Bodine School has two symbols which reflect the character of our students and their academic achievements.

/files/School Symbols/acorn.gif The acorn and the oak leaf are symbols used in the school's logo. According to legend, the acorn is a symbol of how hard work pays off over time. The acorn starts as a little seed and in time grows into a majestic oak, symbolizing the potential for great accomplishment. Our students are guided through the many small steps of academic achievement. They grow in skill and confidence to become achievers, ready to accept life's many challenges.

Sir Winston Churchill (himself learning disabled) was frequently symbolized as a bulldog because of his unflinching determination. Our students must be determined to overcome learning obstacles and succeed. They must embrace challenges with confidence and strength of mind and spirit.
