Community Leaders Breakfast
The Community Leader Breakfast is one of the most exciting and enriching events conducted at The Bodine School. Local dignitaries and business leaders, from police officers to politicians, are invited to join us for breakfast and a tour with a Bodine student. While here, visitors learn about the mission of The Bodine School and the wonderful resources offered to the students. Guests can even spend time in our Dyslexia Simulation Lab to experience first-hand the struggles faced by Bodine students. Best of all, the students get to spend time with someone they admire and learn about professions and community roles that may lie in their futures. This event takes place each year in October, marking Dyslexia Awareness Month. Distinguished community leaders who have attended in the past include: Shelby County Mayor AC Wharton, PGA champion Shaun Micheel, Shelby County Commissioner Deidre Malone, US Congressman Harold Ford Jr. and Arlington Mayor Russell Wiseman. If you are interested in participating in our next Community Leader Breakfast, we will be happy to pair you with a student for an enlightening and rewarding morning. Contact Tonya Eddins by phone at 901-754-1800, ext. 305.
