Teacher Enhancement

Maintaining a well-trained faculty is a top priority for The Bodine School. All faculty receive two summers of intensive training through SMILA as well as participate in numerous workshops and additional training throughout the year. Past workshop instructors have included the Center for the Study and Treatment of Dyslexia, the West Tennessee Writing Project, Wilson Anderson and Nancy Cushen White. Faculty have received additional training in LANGUAGE!, Visualization/Verbalization, LiPS, Symbol Imagery, and Wilson Reading Systems. A number of faculty have attended conferences sponsored by the International Dyslexia Association and the Learning Disabilities Association. Our professional staff also provide workshops at national and local conferences and schools.
