Welcome

/files/Site Images/about_welcome.jpgWelcome to The Bodine School website. I hope you will find our site informative. Our primary objective is to empower ALL individuals with dyslexia to understand their specific learning needs and to achieve maximal academic success. We accomplish this through our many services including the day school and summer school programs, tutor referrals, community workshops, and yearly publications.

Throughout its 35 year history, The Bodine School has provided students with language-based learning disabilities a nurturing environment and a challenging academic curriculum. Our students are bright, creative individuals who desperately want to learn but have difficulty with reading, spelling, and writing. Some students are able to compensate for their difficulties in the early years, but as the reading and writing demands of the classroom increase, their self-esteem and academic performance often plummet.

The Bodine School program is designed specifically for the dyslexic student and is based on current research findings on reading and reading disorders. We offer intensive reading remediation using proven Orton-Gillingham methods. Our specially trained faculty has experience and expertise in teaching the dyslexic learner and our maximum class size of 10 students enables us to know each child as an individual and to provide much needed remediation and attention.

I invite you to discover what makes us a unique and special school. Please arrange a Tuesday Tour to learn more about The Bodine School.
